HOMELAND is a musical in the traditional, grand style, with romantic ballads, stirring anthems, and a full orchestral score. It is the newest musical by San Francisco composer and lyricist Jay Kuo. Two star-crossed lovers--a native son from rural West Texas and the daughter of Korean immigrants--struggle to survive the battle for the hearts and minds of America, where race, religion and values collide. It’s a story of love and loss, set in modern day red state/blue state America. Our goal with this debut, very limited engagement is to confirm the appeal of the show before audiences and continue development of the piece.
